Chin Chin is a modern interpretation of the the quintessential Asian eating house. The Flinders lane building it inhabits is akin to an industrial downtown loft, with high, pressed tin ceilings, steel columns and large windows looking out to one of Melbourne's famed lane ways. Chin Chin's unique combination of bespoke details, quirky wall graphics and industrial objects give the restaurant a grounded but playful feel. Authentic Asian details are subtle yet spirited, such as the vintage delivery cycles and custom 'bakso cart' joinery units. Hints of pop culture are utilised throughout the space, from the arcade bar facade to the "Happy" mascot neon feature.
